food in bowls...
top it with berries and seeds
or eggs and avocado,
and I'm bound to be a happy diner
the start of a new batch of oatmeal porter
red cabbage on a green cutting board
mexican coke and ginger kombucha, a possibly unlikely
but wonderful duo for my tummy bug
playing along again with Heather, for her 'This Week in my Kitchen' blog hop
What a wonderful idea, a kitchen blog hop. Love the look of your food, the prawns look divine.
ReplyDeleteperhaps you can join in next week! thank you~
DeleteThe food looks great. I hope you are over your bug soon!
ReplyDeletethank you~
DeleteOVER it! thankfully, it was fast and only somewhat furious.
I honestly think the best, most comforting food, is the one that can be served in bowls. And those bowls of yours, they seem the kind I want to take with me to snuggle up in the evening, after a long and hard day at work.
ReplyDeletethere is something comforting about a warm (or cold, I suppose) bowl of food, isn't there? easier to snuggle up on the couch with a blanket and a book and a bowl than with a plate, that's for sure!
DeletePlease share your recipes for the 'bowls'. Everything looks wonderful and yummy!
ReplyDeleteI'm one of those throw-it-together types usually. and so really, these are more like un-recipes. the top is plain yogurt topped with blueberries, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, and a splash of maple syrup, bowl two is stir fired rice and veggies (broccoli rabe, red pepper, onion and corn, mostly) topped with over easy fried eggs and avocado, the third is brown rice topped with shrimp sautéed with garlic, butter, broccoli rabe, and bacon.
Deletecheers!
Wonderful food, beautiful pictures. LOVE the cabbage shot!
ReplyDeleteErin

DeleteI'm a mix-it-all-together and throw-it-in-a-bowl kinda gal, that's for sure.

ReplyDeletethank you, Heather~ it gets some of the best light in the house, for sure. thanks for coordinating this blog hop, I'm so enjoying peeking into everyone's kitchens and coming away with lots of inspiration~
Deleteyour kitchen is so wonderfully inviting
ReplyDelete;)
aw, thank you! there are lots of things about it that we'd like to change/update, but really..... I realize that if I had my perfect countertop or perfect ceramic sink or what-have-you that it wouldn't make my time in there any different. not really, anyway. and so I'm beginning to actually appreciate the old hardware and somewhat orange-y plywood cabinets, the slightly peeling countertop, etc. ;)
Deleteso many awesome things happening in your kitchen this week! I love these posts too by the way. I may just have to join in next week.
ReplyDeleteDUDE! I have to remember to join this next week!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks great. Hope you are feeling better!
ReplyDeletewhat lovely photographs, your kitchen looks so cosy. That prawn dish looks amazing.
ReplyDeletedebx
The shrimp looks yummy! I didn't think Mexican coke would taste different but it does. It's a nice treat every once in a while.
ReplyDeleteLovely post! All your food looks delicious, I especially love that corn salad! I read in an old old cook book that in order for a salad to be considered such, it needed to have no fewer than 30 ingredients! Shew! I think you could manage that!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so delicious and colorful. Yum.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so good and your kitchen is very homey..
ReplyDeleteAll of your dishes look delicious. Thanks for sharing a peek into your kitchen.
