a chronicle of our days and half-time efforts at (sub)urban homesteading, musings on parenting, and a whole lot of the mundane, humdrum bits.

a perfect meal
a lovely meal night before last. my girl and I. sautéed chard and onions with toasted sourdough topped with a smear of ricotta and a deliciously fresh fried egg. satisfaction, on so many levels. in knowing the eggs came from our backyard. in the soft, easy light dancing around the room during a brief pause in precipitation. in the relative stillness and quiet during the meal. aside from the clink of forks against plates, the steady and comforting hum of the woodstove, and pages turning in new books.

definitely a perfect meal. that image is making me drool. yum.
ReplyDeleteI am of the mind that a fried egg usually perks up just about anything. anything savory, anyway!
