weekending

sleeping, windows open
waking, birdsong and light skipping across my kitchen counters...

mama's on the mend (though she has months of rehabilitation and therapy ahead of her, she IS recovering, which is big, very big.... not so long ago I worried things may go quite differently, and the fact that my spring and summer (and beyond) are once again spread out before me full of possibility and hope and happiness...... so, so grateful)

a package of goodies recently purchased from sweet Cory, one for me, one for a friend

a bike ride with Claire to a friend's house (the girls bickered while we mamas sat, tea in hand in the sunshine, and mostly ignored the bickering while we caught up) and then to town~ we walked around town square and wandered through an antique store.  once home it was flower bouquets and sunshine, some transplanting of succulents into my first hypertufa pots, and sowing some poppy seeds that recently arrived in the mail from a friend.  the same friend who taught me to make the hypertufa, actually~

and then after a dinner of boxed Annie's mac and cheese slightly dressed up with peas and ricotta, we took a walk with coconut ice cream bars and ended up on a tour of a neighbor's yard and home.

and now, the sun is down but the birds are still singing, and it's time for me to get this girl heading towards slumber.  both of us, actually~ if I can put down my new book, that is.
