The annual Sourwood Festival happened in town this weekend. Last year Claire had her first taste of sketchy carnival rides there and this year we added a big one- the ferris wheel. She was fearless and LOVED it. We rode twice.
she bounced
we ate tacos and a fancy ice cream sandwich made with sugar cookies and lavender-honey ice cream. and just in time, because I was getting ornery in the hot sticky crowd.
she and her little buddy did their own shopping. plant-dyed tagua nut bracelets.
Black Mountain, NC, taken from the ferris wheel:
walking down the street.
they got their faces painted. she picked an octopus, of all things. and specified she wanted it to be "black, brown, and green, please."
oh, and funnel cake happened as well. heck yeah!
it was a sweet weekend. still farm-sitting, had a dear friend in town for two nights, and the festival. good stuff. papa left this morning and will spend the week in Chicago, so it's just us girls.
