a chronicle of our days and half-time efforts at (sub)urban homesteading, musings on parenting, and a whole lot of the mundane, humdrum bits.

fire and light
the last sunset of 2015~ we plugged in some lights and started a little fire to bid the year farewell. somehow we missed our christmas tree bonfire last summer, and still had 2014's tree in the corner of the chicken yard.... and so that was our kindling. it was a bit wet, and didn't give off quite the same torch effect it has in years past, but it still had a bit of crackle and burn left in it.
and then, as usual when there is light and fire and I've got the camera out.... we played a bit
and then came back in to toast the new year ahead (a bit early) and attempt a reasonable bedtime for all. but that didn't quite pan out, and we were all awake in mama and papa's bed at midnight listening to fireworks~
Happy 2016~

DeleteAll in all it sounds like you had a wonderful new year's eve. Our's ended up being pretty late too but it was nice having everyone up to ring in the new year. :)
ReplyDeletewe did~ it was funny.... we tried so hard to have this semi-routine evening and then we were all just huddled in bed listening to the fireworks together after all.
