a chronicle of our days and half-time efforts at (sub)urban homesteading, musings on parenting, and a whole lot of the mundane, humdrum bits.

the sweetest ever, despite the bitterness
newly hive-less and with a plan to take the year off from beekeeping, we find ourselves with an early spring honey harvest. when added to the harvest from last July we're hoping this should get us through the next year or so, maybe even until we've got some girls buzzing in the back yard again with honey enough to spare for us.
it is the most delicious honey I've ever had.

ReplyDeletenow THAT is the easy part!
DeleteSorry to hear you lost them. I just posted about how there are no bees around here. Or very few. I'm bee worried. Enjoy the honey though!
ReplyDeletebee worried for sure! it is depressing to think of all the hardships these awesome little pollinators are facing :( looking forward to getting some more hives next year, but also kinda happy to be taking the year off. enjoying the honey will be pretty easy.
DeleteI'm sorry you lost your colony. It must be hard... I hope your harvest keeps you in sweet thoughts and that your next adventure brings you more joy!
ReplyDeleteit is disappointing, for sure. thank you~ the honey will be great to eat and we will get more bees next year and hope for the best. we had a pretty good run and are ready for a short break.
DeleteThat honey is so dark and rich and beautiful!
